In 2021 I was walking down Oxford Street and amazed at the number of models of colour that I saw in shop windows … but they were all under 30. Where are the 50+ models of colour who do fashion?

I often wondered why I did not see more mature models of colour. I realised that this would never change unless I redressed the imbalance myself. As an older model of colour I have first hand experience of the industry, and wanted to share that with others. To that end I brought a group of the best models together for a shoot to increase their visibility – and New Silver Generation was born.

New Silver Generation is a movement born out of a new breed of model who is confident, fearless and refuses to accept the status quo – preferring to change, through persistence, how we see age and colour in the fashion and beauty industry.
